Reviews of Speaking Engagements

"I thought the presentation was very informative. It showed that even celebrities and famous people deal with these issues. They also told us about things I never knew. Like children and teens get diagnosed with these things every day. I always thought, ‘Oh that could never happen here.’ I found out it could."

“They explained how [suicide] has affected their lives and their family. It made me more aware of the signs of things like depression… The speaker explained how she felt trapped inside and how she did not have many people to talk to. The speaker explained that there are always people to talk to.”

“When this speaker came and started to tell us about her anxiety, I could immediately relate to her story. I had never struggled with a suicide in my family, however one of my close family members had gone through anxiety and I had helped her and saw the experiences she had during this stage of her life. This guest speaker, like my family members, had fought her way through it and overcame her anxiety. I was really proud of how the speaker never gave up… and inspires teenagers.”

“It made me realize that people with issues like depression and anxiety suffer from an illness, just like anyone with a disease. I also learned to correct someone if they say, “I want to kill myself,” in a joking way. Because that is something serious and not meant to be taken lightly.”

“The speaker made me realize how severe and real suicide and mental disorders are; and how common they both are. I had never really thought about the fact that suicide is a real thing that can happen to anyone at any given time. The importance of talking to someone about how you’re feeling was a key point that really stuck out to me.”
